Thank you for your interest in our Puppy & Dog Behavior Classes! Classes tend to fill up three to four weeks in advance. Please return the registration form and call 626-792-7151 ext. 155 to check availability and reserve a space.

Pasadena Humane Society offers different types of classes designed specifically for the age group and size of dogs participating. Classes run for five weeks with the exception of the CGC class.

Class Descriptions:

Puppy Kindergarten Class - for puppies 2 to 5 months only. This is a five week course focusing on Puppy socialization. Typical puppy behavior problems such as housetraining & play biting will be covered plus basic training such as sit, down and come when called.

Adolescent Basic Class - dogs 6 months to 2 years. This is a five week course focusing on basic training plus some problem solving of learnt and established behaviors such as jumping up and attention seeking. Basic training such as sit, down, stay, slack leash walking and come when called.

Adult Basic Class - dogs 2 years and older. This is a five week course focusing on basic training plus some problem solving of learnt and established behaviors such as jumping up and attention seeking. Basic training such as sit, down, stay, slack leash walking and come when called.

Each class is limited to 10 puppies or dogs. All dogs must be spayed or neutered with the exception of Puppy Kindergarten.

Our classes give you the tools to:

  • Socialize and help your puppy or dog become a member of your family
  • Teach your puppy or dog to respond to basic commands such as sit, stay, down, come and walk on a slack leash
  • Increase your puppy's confidence
  • Help with housetraining, and reducing chewing, digging, jumping and play-bite behavior
You must show proof that your puppy or dog is current on all vaccinations, provide a flat collar and a 4 or 6 foot leash, as well as bring your own yummy treats and toys for reinforcement. Families are welcome.
