Hector's Background
Hector is an 8 year old, domestic short hair tabby
cat - a stray I adopted in New York City when he was 8 weeks old.
He came to live with me and my dog in our NY apartment. I found him a companion kitten, Lana, from the ASPCA.
Before I knew any better, I allowed my vet to declaw
them when they were spayed & neutered - I thought declawing
was triming their nails! We all moved to Los Angeles three years
later.

One of Hector's back claws grew back about a year after
we moved to LA. It looked like a small wound when I first noticed
it (the claw had broken through the skin) and the vet prescribed
antibiotics, but it ended up becoming absessed and needed a surgery
to re-remove the claw and it needed a drain before it healed finally
properly.
